Choice
This is a fight for freedom – including the freedom to choose when, and how, to grow your family.
Four years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, overturning decades of precedent that gave women the freedom to make their own decisions about their own bodies for nearly 50 years.
Today, on the anniversary of the Dobbs decision, I want to be crystal clear about where I stand on this issue: We need federally protected abortion rights.
This is an extremely emotional issue for so many people across Alaska and the country. That’s exactly why it should be decided on a case-by-case basis between Alaskans and their doctors – not DC politicians thousands of miles away.
Alaskans can make our own decisions about our families, our bodies, and our futures. That’s why we have these rights protected in our state constitution, and why I’ll never back down from the fight for our freedom to choose.
But over the past four years, we’ve already seen the effects of restricting federal abortion rights, even on states with protected rights like Alaska. The Dobbs decision restricted access to care and the training of healthcare professionals, hurting the next generation of doctors.
To make matters worse, anti-choice politicians in DC are working to strip women of their right to choose and overrule the will of our state by pushing federal abortion bans – including my opponent, who has repeatedly voted to ignore Alaska’s state constitution and restrict abortion on the federal level.
The dark money groups pouring money into this election are going to call me radical for standing up for Alaskans’ constitutionally-protected right to choose.
But if you ask me, what’s radical is thinking the federal government should overrule the will of Alaska voters, interfere in deeply-personal medical decisions, and restrict a doctor’s ability to care for their patients under threats of imprisonment. And I know that the vast majority of Alaskans agree.
This is a fight for freedom. And if we want to fight back against the attacks, win this toss-up Senate race, and protect abortion access in Alaska and across the country, we’re going to need a lot of support from people like you.
We’re up against an onslaught of attack ads paid for by DC Republican dark money groups. If you can, please help us combat the outside spending by pitching in whatever amount feels right to you today – whether it’s $1,000 or $1. It all makes a difference.
Alaska first. Always.

I want to share with you that I have made a short film on this exact topic: that no one should interfere with a woman's right to choose how, when, or if she decides to be a mother. It shows the sometimes heartbreaking results from others interfering with her life plan. It's called "Choice".
I wrote, produced, cast, and had a lead role in this film. The director, DP, and sound are all professional filmmakers.
